ETIM releases

The current version of the ETIM format is ETIM 8.0. This open standard international format is available to all, free of charge, includes the coding structure and the system language (‘ETIM English’), but NOT all local language versions. Today, the open/free versions include ETIM English (our ‘default system language’), Belgian-Flemish, Belgian-French, Dutch, German, Italian, Finnish and Norwegian. You can find most of our (free) releases in our download section.

Release format

ETIM IXF is THE international standard ETIM release format based on XML. The content of the ETIM model is identical in all member countries: each individual ETIM class has exactly the same features – corresponding with the same identifying code – in all countries. Being multilingual, ETIM IXF can contain multiple language versions of the ETIM model in one file. For the complete and detailed format description of ETIM IXF we kindly refer to the download section of this website. Please note, that additional country-specific release formats are available and that the ETIM CMT master database supports a range of exports formats like ASCII (TXT), CSV, ACCESS and EXCEL.

Please contact us for more information on country specific formats.

ETIM Dynamic release

Official international ETIM releases take place about every three years. To meet with the market’s wish for a more flexible standard, however, we also offer so called dynamic releases.

A dynamic or intermediate ETIM release contains all classes that are already published or have the status ‘ready to publish’ at the time of export, be it new or changed existing classes. To indicate the differences to the current official ETIM release we mark them with change codes.

Please note, that a dynamic release still contains the full official release, including those classes, features and values that are ‘tagged’ to be deleted in the next official release.

ETIM Dynamic release caters to the market’s growing need for a more flexible standard.
